 About the Author:

Roger Ewing Taylor grew up in Holliston, Massachusetts.  Always a lover of nature and the outdoors, he spent much of his childhood playing in the forests and glades of New England which has been the setting for most of his books.

The Last White Faerie is a young adult series that takes place in rural Vermont.  Book I, Menace of the Witch Queens describes how a young, adolescent girl faerie named Daphne learns that she is the chosen champion to defend humans and faeries against the rise of evil which begins with the witch queens.  Daphne’s adventures continue in book II, Tales from the Faerie Kingdom which will be available in early 2016.  The first five chapters of  Menace of the Witch Queens and the first tale from Tales from the Faerie Kingdom are both available on this site.

Birchwood is a novel of magical realism that takes place in suburban Maine.  A mysterious giant of a man with no memory or past appears in the small town of Birchwood, Maine. He immediately meets thirteen-year-old Mary Whitney who hasn’t spoken a word in more than a year. Who is this visitor? Why are some people frightened of him? What key does he hold to the mysteries enveloping this community?Vain, shallow characters dominate the town’s social structure. Mary’s mother has spent a lifetime in the grip of alcoholism. Mary’s father is seldom at home. Albert Hicks, an overweight deputy, suffers from feelings of inadequacy. Robin Cohen, Mary’s new schoolteacher, harbors feelings of separation and isolation. Source of the Nile takes place in New Hampshire.  As a dark winter of despair seems to close in on the world. . . Nine-year-old Diana Cerchier has decided to go on an adventure. She wants to follow the brook behind her house back to its source. Inspired by her own spirit of adventure as well as the legends of past explorers who sought the source of the mighty Nile, she begins her quest on a late autumn day. Diana’s journey will take her through wonders and perils that reflect an all too fallen humanity that has lost touch with the source and the light. And so as the darkness descends, the last hope for the world lies in one little girl. To save the world, she must find the Source.

Roger Ewing Taylor currently resides in Los Angeles where he teaches at a public middle school.  He is a seventeen year veteran teacher who has been trained extensively in Common Core strategies.
